If you are worried now

Contact your treating team first and say what you have noticed, where it is, and how long ago it started. If the team cannot be reached, call the hospital main line. For a red-flag finding — blistering, skin turning white, grey or leathery, spreading redness with heat or fever, or any change in vision — go to the nearest emergency department immediately rather than waiting for a reply. This website is not an emergency channel and is not monitored as one.

Arranging an assessment

Non-urgent concerns — a colour change that has been stable for weeks, a texture you dislike, a firm lump under healed skin — are assessed in the outpatient clinic of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center at Chongqing West District Hospital, 301 Huafu Avenue North Section, Jiulongpo District, Chongqing. Call the outpatient line, or use the channel described on the appointments page, and say that you are asking about skin that has been treated with an energy device.

What to bring

Bring the date of treatment, the area treated, and any settings or record you were given. Bring the products you have applied since, a list of your medication, and photographs taken each day, which are often more informative than a description because the assessment of a burn or a pigment change depends on how it has evolved. If you were treated elsewhere, bring whatever record exists; an assessment can still be made without it, but it starts further back.

What the assessment covers

The examination records what the skin looks like now, whether the injury is a burn, an infection or an inflammatory reaction, how much of the treated area is involved, and what kind of pigment change is present. You should leave with clear answers: what the finding is, whether it is urgent, what can be done about it, and when it can fairly be judged.

Fees, records and privacy

This site does not quote prices, because the plan depends on the findings and is discussed directly at consultation. What was found and what was done is documented so that the record follows you, including if you were treated elsewhere and the original record does not exist. Clinical photographs are taken for planning and follow-up, and are not published or used for teaching without a separate consent you are free to refuse.
